2024/25 Welcome Back
Hello Alpenglow families,
First and foremost we want to send out a very warm welcome to all our new and returning families. We hope you made many family memories over the summer and your children are excited to be back.
The Alpenglow School is an Alternative Program administered under the Canadian Rockies Public School Division. Alpenglow Community Education Society (ACES) is the non-profit society that is the acting Program Advisory Group for the alternative program and as such, collect program fees to administer and deliver the extra components that are unique to this program.
We are happy to introduce you to this year's ACES team. Our team includes Roddy Ward, Janelle Schmidt, Jenny McNab, Maja Kasdan, Tangle McClaron, Jenny Spurr, Pamela Higgins, Kyle Henderson. A huge thank you and deep appreciation of gratitude to all of them for sharing their enthusiasm, dedication and incredible ideas for the continual success of the school. The ACES meetings are held monthly and we welcome all families of our Alpenglow students - we will send out a notice for each meeting and hope to see you there! You can keep up to date on our meeting information here, and if you are looking for more information on ACES you can take a look here.
ACES is always interested in learning more about our community and about all of your strengths. We welcome the opportunity to get to know each of our families and to find out what you are passionate about and specifically your natural talents and gifts. This school is made up of the love of our community and the energy we put into it. ACES welcomes hearing from all of our members. We are here to support you and your families in having a great school year.
Lastly, I want to thank all of our amazing teaching team for sharing their knowledge and wisdom. We know how dedicated you all are to our school and we are grateful to you for creating safe and happy spaces for our children. Combining the Alberta Curriculum, Waldorf Inspired pedagogy and Nature Immersion aspect to all things that they do is by no means an easy feat, yet you continue to do it, pushing the boundaries and edges of education, to be able to help us build, grow and sustain a school that connects our children with themselves, nature and community.
