November message from ACES
Hello Alpenglow Families,
November is here along with the arrival of the snow transforming our familiar landscape and creating a magical wonderland for children and families. The changing of seasons shows the rhythm of our natural world and with that comes seasonal celebrations which are a prominent part of the Alpenglow School year. Celebrating festivals brings a sense of rhythm and anticipation, and particularly for the young children, this is an important part of their growing up. These events also allow us as a community to come together to celebrate. Through COVID-19, our seasonal celebrations have been put on pause and some of our newer families have not had the opportunity to join in the celebrations, you can take a look here for a list of all the celebrations we would traditionally be hosting throughout the school year.
The Solstice Spiral is the last winter celebration of the calendar year. It is held on or around the Winter Solstice, and in a normal year, we would be inviting you to join us to quietly walk a spiral of evergreen boughs in the Alpenglow back field. This celebration invites us to take gratitude in finding the inner light inside each of us and to recognize the days will now be getting longer again as we welcome the light back in on the longest night of the year. Take a look here for more information on the Advent Spiral.
This month, as you have seen in your email inbox, we have our Valbella Gourmet Foods fundraiser happening now until December 8th. If you haven’t already ordered your box or gift cards, please do so and enjoy some quality local meats while also supporting our school! Please also share it with your friends and family.
Also, please pass along to any families with young children ready to start school, that our Kindergarten Registration will open November 30th at 5pm. You can go to the CRPS website for all information and to sign up.
And lastly, we would like to let you know that our next ACES meeting will be held on Tuesday December 14th at 7pm. All parents are welcome to join this meeting and be a part of our school, so please consider attending.
Warmly,
ACES
