June message from ACES
Hello Alpenglow Families,
Wow! Where did the year go? How can it be June already? What a full year we had. Thank you to you all for being such champions of our school and supporters of our teachers and way finders for our kiddos. We truly do appreciate and admire all the families who make up our great community.
At this time, we would like to formally welcome two new board members to ACES, Jana Reed has accepted the position of Vice President, and Janelle Schmidt the position of Director At Large. We look forward to your new fresh perspective and having you a part of our team. With that being said, we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge and thank our outgoing Vice President Lindsey Williams and Director At Large Karen West. Thank you both for all that you have done over the years. The school is such a better place through the contributions you have made on our behalf.
As we wind down our year, we are taking the time to reflect on the school year’s accomplishments and are beginning to get ready for next year. As such we have attached a link to our annual parent survey in this newsletter. ACES wants to ensure we are representing our members and the school is a reflection of the founding principles it was built upon, Waldorf inspired, Nature Immersion, Community Minded and Academic Excellence. We take the results of the parent survey very seriously and we use the information gathered to inform our decision making and weaving them into the implementation of our strategic plan.
We are looking forward to this year’s parent survey feedback so that we can continually hear direct input from you so that we can continue to create the best learning environment and school experience for our children.
Once again, deep gratitude and appreciation to all of our families who trusted Alpenglow and supported us this year. It was such a beautiful school year. We navigated the challenges as they popped up and we stayed steadfast together as a community. The love of the foundation of what our school was built upon truly surfaced and bound us together this year.
We also want to send a huge thank you to our teachers, EAs, support staff and administration for their time, effort and extraordinary care and guidance shared with our students. Thank you for preparing our students to advance to the next level of their learning.
Lastly, we send good wishes to all those Grade 6s graduating and the families who are leaving Alpenglow. We look forward to our paths crossing again and know you are always welcome and a part of the community.
On behalf of ACES, thank you for a great year - enjoy your summer! We look forward to celebrating next year as we commemorate our 10 year anniversary as an alternative education program for Bow Valley families.
