Alpenglow School 2017/18 Fundraising Plan
From Alexia McKinnon, ACES Fundraising Coordinator
Each month we have the opportunity to raise these funds for our school by taking part in the following fundraisers:
Grocery Cards
By purchasing Save – On grocery gift cards we earn our school 10% of our total sales. This could generate us up to $15,000 if each family was able to commit to $200 each month. If you haven’t already signed up, please connect with Shelly Brown, our Grocery Card Coordinator, to receive your forms.
Organic Box
We are planning to partner with Organic Box as another way to feed our families. They are willing to offer us up to $5,000 per school year. All we have to do is enter the special Alpenglow School Fundraiser Code when we check out and they will divert a portion of their sales to our school. Look for a separate-mail later this week with the special fundraising code.
Bottle Recycling
Each month, please share your empty refundable bottles to our account at the Canmore Bottle Depot, 103 Boulder Crescent, in Canmore. All you have to do is drop them off and say you would like them to go to the Alpenglow School account.
In October we focus on School Photos. Our photographer donates all of their time. We charge a $25 photo fee and all of the proceeds of those sales goes towards our fundraising initiatives. The photos are a beautiful memory of your child’s school year and by purchasing them, you are collectively contributing nearly $1000.00 to the school’s fundraising efforts.
We would like to change the date of our year end raffle to March. June is such a busy month for us all, we would like to relieve some of our families commitments during the end of school. As such we would like to move our ACES Raffle to March. Each year this raffle raises our school $10,000. I would like to thank Melanie Wood for her past three years of service organizing this for our school. As she has now stepped into the ACES Board Community Development role, we are searching for a new raffle coordinator. If this is something of interest to you, please do let me know so we can get you started and going on this very important fundraiser.
In May, Jill Stephenson-Long and her team coordinate the ever popular Mother’s Day Flower Fundraiser. This fundraiser raises us almost $4,000 a year. We look forward to the forms arriving home to let us know that soon we will all be bringing home beautiful hanging baskets, potted plants and strawberries.
This year we would also like the return of the Missing Link sausages if anyone would like to lead this yummy fundraiser. We typically fill our freezers twice a year. For every 10 packages of sausages we sell, you receive an extra package of sausages free and the school receives $10 on every order.
We are also reactivating our Mabel’s Labels campaign, please link here to get your labels!
Thank you so much for supporting our school and the fundraising initiatives we have planned and for sharing opportunities as you learn of them. Should you be interested in joining the fundraising or grant writing committees, please do let me know, I would love to be working on a team with you.
I am always available for comments and questions at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you.
