The Alpenglow Community Education Society (ACES) is a non-profit organization that nurtures and supports the Alpenglow School - an alternative program with the Canadian Rockies Public Schools. ACES is a volunteer board of directors whose role is to uphold the Alpenglow Programs in the principles of Waldorf Education and nature connection experiences. We believe that education is most effective when it builds a sense of wonder, thirst for knowledge, and matches the natural stages of childhood development. We strive to build a strong foundation for future learning and development by integrating the arts, academics and nature immersion.
We seek to find an administrative assistant to join our fun, flexible, and passionate team. The right candidate for the position will enjoy this position for its autonomy and creativity. This job is perfect for someone inspired by our organizational purpose, enjoys administrative work, and keeps ACES organized and accountable to our responsibilities. To be successful in this role, you should be adaptable, mature, take initiative, possess strong organizational and administrative skills, have proficiency working with technology, specifically Excel, Word, Gmail/Google Drive and website management. At least one full year of experience working in an administrative role is an asset. Candidates must have at minimum a high school diploma.
Administrative Assistant Position Overview:
● Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operations.
● Answers emails and carries out administrative duties such as google drive maintenance.
● Organizes volunteer activities
● Banking, budget assistance, invoice payments,and insurance maintenance
● Responsible for school registration and fee collection
● Oversees school supplies inventory and ordering
● Support with ACES festivals and fundraising events as needed
● Liaison with Canadian Rockies Public School administration and staff
● Attending monthly ACES meeting
● Website maintenance, regular newsletter communication, and marketing content
creation
● Exhibits confidential, polite and professional communication via phone, email, and mail.
Work hours are flexible and dependent on the needs of the position within the school year.
Typically between 30 and 70 hours per month. With holidays and summers largely off work.
Compensation is $ 20-25 per hour based on experience. This is a work from home position with
the candidate using their own computer.
